Description:    U of L has emerged as a leader in oral biology research with world class faculty members respected for their discoveries.

  • In 2004, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) ranked the University of Louisville School of Dentistry 15th among all dental schools, rising from 36th in 2002.

  • ULSD grant funding increased from $2 million in 2002-2003 to $7.5 million in 2004-2005.

    The University of Louisville School of Dentistry research program is divided into two sections: the Oral Health and Systemic Disease Research Group and the Molecular, Cellular and Craniofacial Biology department, home to the University of Louisville Birth Defects Center.

    The aim of ULSD, LLC is to enhance the speed to market of developments within the UofL School of Dentistry and to educate and improve the faculty knowledge and expertise in entrepreneurial activities.
