Description:		Pradama Inc. is a pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of products to treat bone diseases and disorders. Pradama's core technology is bone-targeting drug delivery. The company's novel bone-targeting moieties, covered by an issued patent, were reverse engineered from tetracycline-a molecule known to have high affinity to a bone-specific mineral, hydroxyapatite. Molecules with high affinity to hydroxyapatite are expected to be specifically delivered to bones. Pradama plans to create a series of products based on its patented bone-targeting drug delivery technology. The company's main development program is for osteoporosis. The osteoporosis market is one of the largest therapeutic categories in both the U.S. and worldwide. In OVX rat studies Pradama's orally available small molecules have a similar bone-building effect as parathyroid hormone. They significantly increase bone mechanical competence, indicating an increase in bone mass and bone mineral density. In addition, Pradama has synthesized and completed in vitro testing of both a bone-targeting antineoplastic for bone cancer and a bone-targeting antibiotic for osteomyelitis. Pradma raised $1.6 million in a Series A financing.
