The MetaCyte Business Lab team has significant experience both in creating health science companies and working with venture capital investors. In fact, MetaCyte considers investors in health science companies to be its primary customers.

MetaCyte does its homework. Before proceeding with a new venture, MetaCyte seeks to answer a number of key questions, including:

  • What is the market opportunity?

  • Who is already in the market?

  • What do clinicians think about the technology?

  • What is the status of intellectual property?

  • Are there reimbursement issues?

  • What does the development pathway look like?

MetaCyte's goal is to remove as much risk as possible for prospective investors.

If you are an investor seeking to learn more about MetaCyte, its operational model, and its portfolio companies, contact Andy Steen, vice president for business development, at 502-569-1020 x304 or asteen@metacyte.biz.

"There is outstanding world-class technology and research coming out of the University of Louisville. MetaCyte´s objective is to help commercialize intellectual property that emerges and facilitate start-ups."

     Robert Saunders
     Retired Managing Director
     Chrysalis Ventures

"Clearly, if the MetaCyte team has done due diligence on a particular opportunity, then an investor should be able to take some comfort from their experience and wealth of knowledge."

     Yearling Fund

"MetaCyte provides the right combination of professional services, environment and access to capital that can improve the chances of success of a high potential life science company."

     Matt McGarvey
     Vice President
Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation, Kentucky Enterprise Fund

"Startup companies that have been vetted and nurtured by Metacyte are more likely to be investable opportunities because they have been properly prepared and positioned for such investors. As investors, we are not dealing with naïve or unrealistic expectations on the part of these companies because of the education and mentoring provided by Metacyte."

     John M. Rice, Ph.D.
     Managing Partner
     Triathlon Medical Ventures

"MetaCyte offers a wealth of technical, operational and human resources support to entrepreneurial health science companies in Louisville. Venture funds and entrepreneurs alike are well served to stay abreast of MetaCyte´s nascent enterprises."

     Carter McNabb
     Director
     River Cities Capital Fund

"Under the guidance of Steve Gailar and his wealth of experience, MetaCyte has added significant talent and experience, as well as networks that are of significant value to a start-up. This has helped to make MetaCyte a unique resource to help establish and grow the life science cluster in Louisville, and throughout the state. Steve´s involvement in managing the Kentucky Seed Capital Fund is an added benefit which will help to ensure that the companies that work with MetaCyte will have the opportunity to get initial funding to get off the ground."

     George Emont
     Venture Partner
     Triathlon Medical Ventures
     Managing Partner
     Kentucky Seed Capital Fund

"At Spring Mill Ventures, we feel is it critically important for start up entrepreneurs to have access to business development expertise like that now in place at MetaCyte. The MetaCyte team is ideally suited to help entrepreneurs understand best practices for the creation of new companies and to prepare the companies to launch new technologies into the marketplace. These activities are critical to the ability of start up ventures to attain the early funding necessary for success."
